Just 655,000 Iraqis Dead; Bush Promises To Do Better:

BAGHDAD, IRAQ- Researchers at Johns Hopkins have released a new study on the progress in Iraq, and it seems that the President has a lot to answer for. After more than three years of solid effort in the region, a paltry 600,000 Iraqi civilians have died according to the report. White House officials point out that the study is pure guesswork, an vague extrapolation, and that the real number is likely much higher. Statisticians disagree, however, referencing their last such study which found the number of deaths to be far less, something close to 150,000.

"Whether it's 150,000 or 600,000, the low numbers of civilian casualties is just unacceptable," said Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John Warner. "The mortality rate in Vietnam was nearly twice that and we didn't even have the advanced weapons technology we have now. To be perfectly frank, I'm appalled at the lack of progress. If we don't see significantly more deaths in the next six months, we will be forced to reevaluate our Iraq policy."

Our soul with you.

Good afternoon
I am the author of page www.jaras.org . I am in Lithuania. Our group including the Lithuanian newspaper " the Hot comment " we spend anti-war work. We should be together and struggle against all wars on our planet. Our planet, for last ten years, became more dangerous. War is necessary to politicians, but not to simple people. We wish to live in the world and friendship with all people. The Lithuanian politicians put strong negative pressure upon the newspaper and our activity. We wish to be with you and to receive encouragement of all peace people. Soon on the Internet there will be a new graphic anti-war project. I now work above it. To look it is possible here www.jaras.org/war.html . (wait full loading, specify a picture). I plan to create greater gallery on the Internet.

Hello from Women in Black - Phoenix to people who continue to read messages here.

We were not able to be in Washington DC, but I was mindful of the events.

I'd like all to know that the activist community in the Phoenix area is vibrant and busy. We have an 'End the War Now' coalition, at which I represent WIB, which creates and stages many of the anti-war demonstrations, and other events, which occur here.

Some groups represented in our coalition are -

Az Alliance for Peace and Justice
Code Pink - Phoenix
Progressive Democrats of America
Veterans for Peace
Az. Christian Peacemakers
SOMOS - No More Deaths
Herb Paine for Congress Campaign
Women in Black - Phoenix
Az. Advocacy Network
MoveOn.org

It's almost 'snowbird' time here; I invite anyone visiting the Valley, for a short or long time, to attend any of our meetings and events. Az. Allince for Peace and Justice has a full calendar on their website - www.azpeace.org.
